Our Residential Epoxy Floor Coatings Process

Residential and Commercial Process

Preparation: The first step is to prepare the floor surface that will receive the new epoxy coating. This involves cleaning the surface thoroughly to remove any dirt, debris, or contaminants that may interfere with adhesion. We use state of the art floor grinders to ensure every inch of your concrete is ready to create a strong bond with our base coat. We then fill any cracks your concrete currently has with a fast setting crack fill that bonds perfectly to our primer.
Priming: Once the surface is prepped, we apply a primer layer. We always suggest using a vapor barrier compound to ensure your floor is set up for success. This helps to create a strong bond between the substrate and the epoxy coating and minimizes the effects of high moisture content in PNW concrete.
Mixing: The next step is to mix the two components of the epoxy coating. Epoxy coatings typically consist of a resin and a hardener, which must be mixed together in the correct proportions and thoroughly blended to ensure a consistent finish.
Application: Once the epoxy coating is mixed, it is applied to the surface using a back rolling method to ensure an even and complete finish. We then broadcast your flake choice for a beautiful look.
Top Coat: We finish all of our floors with a polyaspartic top coat that is even stronger than epoxy, and is UV stable to avoid any yellowing over time.
Curing: After the coating has been applied, it needs to be allowed to cure, during which the epoxy undergoes a chemical reaction that causes it to harden and become durable.
